1.1 Introduce
ALEX was founded in early 2021, with testnet launch in Oct 2021 and mainnet launch in Jan 2022.ALEX targets the Bitcoin economy and when DeFi is possible on Bitcoin, we believe the Bitcoin DeFi (or BitFi) economy can be twice as large as the Ethereum DeFi economy. What Bitcoin needs for this to be possible is a smart contract layer, which allows building of these DeFi protocols secured by Bitcoin. Stacks blockchain is one such smart contract layer and we are the biggest DeFi on Stacks, with more than half of the total TVL and the biggest trading volume. Working together with Stacks Foundation, we continue integrating with Bitcoin to bring better user experience based on the security of Bitcoin.
